I found these two websites for searching grants: http://www.foundationcenter.org andhttp://www.grantspace.org in Grow: How to Take Your DIY Project and Passion to the Next Level and Quit Your Job! by Eleanor C. Whitney. I'm not sure if the book would be helpful for people whose projects are as far along as Cuatro Caminos or Tan Line, but there are some aspects like these websites that I think you all might be interested in.
Cuatro Caminos folks: last time I was in Tucson I went to a pretty amazing grant workshop at the public library. It turned out they had membership with two grants databases that were huge and you could access from their computers. I'm not sure how normal that is.
