We Need Some Volunteers!

Come out and help your local CSA grow!

Budding gardeners or experienced veterans! Cuatro Caminos Gardens can use some help in tending or support. A new volunteers schedule will be posted on the blog site for interested parties to help out. Time slots will be through out the week and weekend. For more information please email: ivcaminos@gmail.com I will send out a time sheet and instructions for the garden. Simple stuff, weeding, watering and some planting.

We are planting the rest of the rows at Scott's garden on 6313 Glengarry Ave Whittier.  It's a simple and clean row 48"x133", lot's of area to play and design what eat for the fall.

Verimcomposting at The Growing Home and Learning Center

If you ever wanted to learn about composting with worms.  Saturday, Sept 17 is a verimcomposting workshop in Diamond Bar at The Growing Home and Learning Center, starts at 5pm to 7:30pm.  There will be a potluck dinner as well.

About The Growing Home, "The Growing Home is a garden and educational center located in the suburbs of Los Angeles.  Formerly just a regular old house in the ‘burbs, since 2008 The Growing Home has expanded to become a garden,  orchard, vegetable farm, mushroom grower, and (vermi)compost manufacturer.   We are always working on new projects, which currently include rainwater harvesting, vertical gardening, and natural building & architecture. Our goal is to provide a space for building community through sustainable education.  We regularly hold classes on things like composting, rainwater harvesting, vegetable growing, and tree pruning."
